About The Position

Northwood Technical College is seeking a professional to teach the Aerial Installation Field Training course in our Utility Construction Technician program at the Rice Lake Campus. This course teaches aerial construction specifications and installation practices in which students will learn how to safely use and operate climbing equipment (belt/climbers), lashing equipment, ladders, and bucket trucks. Learning will occur in the lab and out in the on-site pole field. If you have experience in aerial installation and want to share that knowledge with eager students, we’d like to hear from you! This course is scheduled for (M,T,W 7:30am -11:20am & 12:30pm -3:20pm, 21hr weekly from 3/23/26-4/08/26), 63 total hours. Northwood Tech Instructors teach in a discipline area in which they have specific training and competence. Instructors are expected to foster learner success, assess learner achievement, and continually improve learning opportunities. Instructors are expected to continually improve the overall quality and delivery of learning, including the support of program and collegewide initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in the field or closely related field and 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment.
OR 1- or 2-year technical diploma in the field or closely related field and 5 years (10,000 hours) of occupational experience, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment.
Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Develop and continually revise curriculum that includes Employability Essentials and technical content to meet industry and/or regulatory standards.

Designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) to receive and report criminal incidents to the Northwood Tech Safety Office by virtue of this role’s responsibilities at the College (only applies to instructor positions with club advising duties).
