About The Position
OMS Communications Group, LLC is seeking qualified Aerial Linemen to join our team. The Aerial Line Person (Aerial Construction Lineman) will be responsible for accessing specific areas to install, maintain, and/or repair telecommunications equipment for our customers. This position requires a solid understanding of telecommunications construction, including familiarity with aerial lift devices, utility lines, and poles. The successful candidate will be able to utilize cable placement equipment and tools effectively, as well as identify and troubleshoot problems that may arise during the installation or maintenance process. The role involves climbing poles as needed, completing pole transfers, and building aerial plant infrastructure, which includes running, lashing, and over-lashing strand, coax, and fiber cables in both new and rebuild construction projects. The Aerial Lineman must be qualified to operate a bucket truck and adhere to safe work practices, demonstrating a strong understanding of OSHA and DOT standards for construction. The position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while completing assigned tasks in a timely manner. Essential functions of the job include the ability to work safely, both with and without supervision, and to perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, and manipulating equipment for extended periods. The Aerial Lineman will also be responsible for completing daily production reports to document work performed and maintaining tools and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This position is primarily outdoor work, exposing the employee to varying temperatures and terrain, and may require travel from home with multiple overnight stays.
