About The Position

Primarily responsible for providing professional emergency treatment in the pre-hospital setting. Primarily treats and transports the sick or injured. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Completion of a vocational training program as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
  • Current Georgia AEMT certification
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license
  • Current AHA/ARC BLS certification
  • AHA/ARC PALS or PEARS certification within 9 months
  • CPT training within 9 months of hire
  • FAST-ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of hire
  • Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility performance evaluation
  • Have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English and to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, volunteers and management
  • Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress
  • Be able to think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations, which may occur
  • Be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment
  • Be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc
