About The Position

As a youth advocate you will play a crucial role in supporting and empowering young individuals as they navigate their way through various challenges, providing guidance, resources, and mentorship to ensure they reach their full potential by creating a safe and inclusive environment where young people can thrive and flourish. Status: Part-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout Erie County are available. Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings. The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families. Coordinate with families, schools, and services to ensure care Conduct outreach and community engagement to build support networks All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model. This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay and activity reimbursement. Hourly Pay Rate $ 18.00 Availability: This is a part time position and hours may vary and may include evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families
  • Basic computer knowledge is required; experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.
