About The Position

At the CFAC, we are dedicated to improving the lives of children who have been victims of abuse or neglect. We provide a safe and supportive environment where children and their families can access critical services and resources. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to heal, thrive, and succeed. We are seeking a passionate and compassionate Advocate to join our team. As an Advocate, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and their families through the often complex and challenging journey of recovering from abuse. Your primary responsibilities will include providing emotional support, coordinating services, and ensuring that each child's voice is heard and their needs are met. Shift: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM , Tuesday - Saturday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children and families, preferably in a child advocacy or social services setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and the impact of abuse on children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with children and their families.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and the mission of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Offer emotional support and guidance to children and their families throughout the advocacy process.
  • Assist with navigating the legal, medical, and social service systems.
  • Develop and maintain individualized service plans for each child and their family.
  • Coordinate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Act as a liaison between the child, their family, and various service providers.
  • Advocate for the child's best interests in meetings, court proceedings, and other relevant settings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions, services provided, and case progress.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, law enforcement, medical professionals, and legal representatives, to support the child's needs.
