About The Position

The Advocate - Sheltering & Housing will provide comprehensive trauma-informed and survivor-centered services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other violent crimes. This position will provide case management, housing advocacy, immediate Sheltering, and related supportive services, and emotional support to all Sheltering residents. This position will also provide follow-up services with residents who have transitioned out of Sheltering. In addition, this position will provide emotional support and crisis intervention to callers on the 24-hour crisis line. This position requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. This position will participate in the 12-hour on-call shelter backup rotation. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor - Sheltering & Housing. This position will need to have a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements

  • Any relevant experience in a related field.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing and a vehicle with appropriate auto insurance are required.
  • Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
  • This position will need to have a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience, paid or volunteer human service experience (with children, domestic violence, and sexual assault victims).
