About The Position

The Advocate - Sexual Abuse provides comprehensive services to survivors of sexual abuse in Scott, Muscatine, Louisa, Clinton, and Jackson Counties. Responsibilities include advocacy, case management, emotional support, support groups, and safety planning. The advocate provides support in medical facilities, within the legal system, and in community settings as appropriate. Collaboration with community partners is essential to ensure survivor needs are prioritized. This position participates in a 24-hour on-call rotation for Survivor Services, covering day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts across all five counties. Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance are required. This role operates under the direction of the Supervisor - Braking Traffik and Iowa Sexual Abuse and Domestic Abuse. A flexible schedule may be needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required.
  • Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
  • Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 3 years of related human services field work preferred.
