About The Position

The Advocate of Illinois Domestic Abuse Criminal Legal provides comprehensive trauma informed and survivor centered services to individuals who identify as survivors of domestic violence, primarily within the legal system, and who are involved in the criminal justice system as a result of their abuser in Rock Island and parts of Henry County. This position provides individual advocacy, case management, emotional support, support groups, safety planning, and other systems advocacy for clients and their significant others affected by domestic violence. This position will focus on working in collaboration with the judicial systems, specifically the criminal justice system, in order to support, enhance, and expand services to survivors who are involved in criminal justice proceedings. In addition to advocating for survivors, the Advocate of Illinois Domestic Abuse Criminal Legal will provide training and technical assistance to individuals in the judicial system and law enforcement to assist in awareness and understanding of the unique needs of survivors of domestic abuse. This position participates in the on call rotation, providing 24 hour in person crisis response to survivors as requested. This position requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor of Illinois Domestic Abuse. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays. As a member of Family Resources, you will have an EOS leader who: Gives clear directions. Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required.
  • Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.

Nice To Haves
