What You’ll Do: As an Advocate Counselor, you’ll be a steady, compassionate presence for survivors navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Your work will include: Crisis Intervention & Emotional Support Offering trauma‑informed counseling, safety planning, and immediate crisis response on our hotline and LAP line. Advocacy That Makes a Difference Guiding clients through risk assessments, restraining order processes, court accompaniment, and navigating complex systems with dignity and respect. Empowerment Through Education Helping survivors understand the dynamics of abuse, build coping strategies, and strengthen their sense of agency. Community Connection Collaborating with partner agencies, making referrals, and ensuring clients have access to the resources they need. Program & Shelter Support Facilitating support groups, maintaining accurate case documentation, and providing shelter coverage when needed.
