About The Position

Out of the Box Technology (OOTB) is a leading outsourced accounting, financial advisory, and technology advisory firm. Within their Advisory Practice, they ensure technology transformations work; not just technically, but operationally. This role is a true hybrid of ERP implementation and accounting advisory. The consultant will lead client engagements end-to-end, from identifying accounting issues to designing and implementing systems and processes that solve them. The ideal candidate is comfortable working within QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite while also advising on core accounting operations, including close processes, controls, and reporting. This is a client-facing, billable role reporting to the VP of Advisory, with ownership of engagements from scope through delivery.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting, advisory, or ERP/financial systems implementation
  • Strong accounting foundation with the ability to assess and explain financial issues
  • Experience working with or integrating financial systems (ERP, GL, or related SaaS tools)
  • Proven project management and client-facing experience

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward CPA
  • Hands-on experience implementing QuickBooks Online and/or Intuit Enterprise Suite
  • Background in consulting, advisory, or outsourced accounting
  • Experience supporting high-growth or lower-middle-market companies
  • Exposure to tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Bill.com, Ramp, Rippling, ServiceTitan, or Maxio

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle ERP implementations (primarily QuickBooks Online and Intuit Enterprise Suite), including requirements gathering, configuration, UAT, go-live, and stabilization
  • Own the integration strategy and execution across key SaaS tools (e.g., CRM, AP automation, payroll, revenue systems)
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system design
  • Partner with data migration resources to ensure data is structured, mapped, and deployed correctly
  • Support clients through cutover, training, and early-stage month-end close cycles
  • Perform accounting health checks to assess accuracy, structure, and reliability of financials
  • Identify root causes and deliver clear, actionable recommendations
  • Lead cleanup work, including chart of accounts restructuring, transaction reclassification, and reconciliations
  • Redesign finance processes such as month-end close, AP/AR workflows, and reporting
  • Evaluate control environments and identify gaps in segregation of duties, approvals, and oversight
  • Conduct risk assessments and help prioritize areas of exposure
  • Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality are met
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Controllers and CFOs
  • Communicate technical and accounting concepts clearly and effectively
  • Navigate ambiguity and adapt to real-world client environments
