Advisor, Health Promotion • Join us and help advance health promotion and well‑being across the Region of the Americas The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO), is seeking a highly qualified and results‑driven Advisor, Health Promotion to provide strategic, technical and programmatic leadership in advancing health promotion, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and strengthening intersectoral action to improve health and well‑being in the Region of the Americas. Under the general supervision of the Director, Social and Environmental Determinants for Health Equity (DHE) and the direct supervision of the Unit Chief, Health Promotion and Social Determinants (DHE/HP), the selected candidate will: • Provide technical, strategic and programmatic advice and direct technical cooperation for the implementation of the PAHO Strategy and Plan of Action on Health Promotion in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. • Support Member States in the design, implementation and evaluation of healthy public policies and initiatives, strengthening social participation and intersectoral action. • Promote community health, civil society engagement, and participatory approaches to improve well‑being and quality of life. • Support the development and strengthening of information, surveillance and evidence‑based systems related to health promotion and social determinants of health. • Coordinate the collection, analysis and dissemination of technical and scientific information, including technical reports, position papers and guidance documents. • Represent the Organization in technical meetings, seminars, congresses and academic events related to health promotion.
