Advisor, Financial Aid Services - South Campus PRIMARY FUNCTION: To advise students on requirements for obtaining financial aid and to assist current and prospective students with any issues related to funding their college education. Essential Job Functions: Assist students and families with all financial aid options and processing federal, state and institutional financial aid applications in accordance with federal, state and college regulations. This includes verification concerns. Plan, implement, and conduct retention and completion activities related to financial literacy and education. Uses professional judgment to evaluate dependency and special circumstance appeals. Work with the Manager of Financial Aid to plan, implement and evaluate the programs and services provided by the Financial Aid Office. Conduct financial aid informational presentations to special groups Prepares for and participates in a variety of college/campus /community, task force, workshops, training sessions and conferences as assigned; collaborates with other service areas to provide and improve services to students. Additional Job Functions: Work cooperatively with counterparts on the other campuses to achieve the College’s annual goals and objectives. Represent SJC with outside educational institutions, internal departments, and professional organizations. Serve as department liaison and on campus/college committees as requested. Other duties as assigned.
