As an Academic Advisor, you would provide proactive, student-centered academic advising services that foster student success, retention, and completion. Advisors are assigned a caseload of students within a designated Career and Academic Community (CAC), allowing for more focused, specialized guidance aligned with students' academic and career goals. This position is grounded in a proactive advising framework, where you would intentionally reach out to students at key points in their academic journey, build meaningful relationships, and empower students to make informed decisions. A critical component of the role includes early intervention which includes actively monitoring students' progress and responding to early alerts. Academic Advisors document interventions, track outcomes, utilize data, and ensure follow-up is conducted to promote persistence and accountability. This position will need to work at least two (2) days per week from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with occasional weekends. Additionally, this position will have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally but will require a strong on campus presence to meet with student and build a culture of support and may require occasional travel to all three FRCC campuses for trainings, in-services, etc.
