The Advising & Transfer Credit Specialist at Bay Path University is responsible for providing academic coaching, advising, and transfer credit evaluations to students. This role supports students in achieving their academic goals and requires collaboration with various university departments to ensure effective academic planning and support services. The position is remote and requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

  • Provide advising and academic coaching for up to 150 Cambridge College students
  • Provide preliminary transfer credit evaluations for all accepted students enrolling through the Edvance partnership
  • Consult with the registrar's office on transferable credits and appropriate application of credits
  • Provide admissions team with timely estimation of transfer credits for incoming students
  • Maintain collaboration with admissions and registrar teams to understand enrollment cycles
  • Monitor the academic progress of students and develop personalized action plans
  • Employ active listening and assessment skills to evaluate students' academic support needs
  • Assist students in developing effective study habits and time management skills
  • Create and update Academic Plans and assist in the registration process
  • Verify that transfer credit for incoming new students has been evaluated and credited
  • Provide accurate information to students and make necessary referrals
  • Help students navigate college services and coordinate follow-up
  • Design and implement interventions as needed
  • Facilitate student contact with faculty and staff to resolve issues
  • Outreach to at-risk student populations and monitor their progress
  • Collect data and maintain records of outreach and meetings with students
  • Participate in new student advising and registration programs
  • Provide classroom presentations relevant to advising and academic coaching services
  • Serve on campus-wide committees
  • Attend trainings as required
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the University.
  • Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling or closely related field preferred
  • Experience in higher education advising, coaching or career advising, preferably with adult students
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to a culturally and socio-economically diverse learning environment
  • Proficiency in the use of technology
  • Effective team player
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately
  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA guidelines
