About The Position

Under the direction of the Adventure Activities Director, the Rocks and Rope Facilitator will assist with facilitating climbing wall sessions, low ropes team building and high ropes challenge course, running the Adventure Activities info desk and leading on grounds guided hikes. Requirements

  • Must have up-to-date certifications in CPR (Can be obtained during training)
  • Must successfully complete an ACCT Level 1 practitioner course (Will be provided through training)
  • Must have knowledge of RMNP and surrounding areas
  • Must have a high degree of skill working with people of all ages
  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards
  • Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred facilitation experience

Responsibilities

  • Answering guest questions regarding Adventure Activities and programs ran through the Boone Family Mountain Center
  • Setting up and tearing down indoor and outdoor climbing walls
  • Belaying and facilitating both the indoor and outdoor climbing walls
  • Guiding short on grounds hikes
  • Facilitating low ropes team building sessions
  • Leading high ropes challenge course sessions, including conducting rescues at height, as needed
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Know and adhere to policies and procedures set forth by YMCA of the Rockies
  • Use a computer to assist guests in enrolling for Adventure Activities and enter data prior to and after activities
  • Handle cash/credit cards and use a cash register to record deposits for borrowed hiking equipment and merchandise sales
  • All other duties as assigned
