About The Position

The Advancement Specialist position at Owensboro Community and Technical College focuses on fostering relationships between the college and the community, including local businesses, to address educational, workforce, and economic needs. This full-time role involves providing administrative support, managing donor relations, and organizing special events to enhance institutional advancement efforts.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and two (2) years of relevant work experience or its equivalent is required.
  • The equivalent would be an associate degree and four (4) years of relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Chief Institutional Officer and other Advancement staff members.
  • Assist the OCTC Foundation in preparing for regular meetings.
  • Record gifts to the college in contributor relations software, follow up with donors on pledges, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Process Emergency Student Loans for students in need.
  • Provide outreach and manage special Advancement Functions such as the Trailblazer Dinner, Alumni Events, Donor Celebrations, and OCTC Restaurant Nights.
  • Compile and maintain information included in the annual report, assist with compilation of direct appeals and Foundation communication cycle.
  • Schedule gift presentations and facilitate donor recognition stewardship.
  • Prepare and manage all Social Media outreach for Campaigns, Alumni Outreach, Advancement Events, and the Advancement Office.
  • Provide front line assistance for those who need services from the Advancement Office.
