About The Position

This role works directly with the Vice President of Advancement, and LDS Philanthropies to support university fundraising initiatives. The Advancement Associate contributes to both the strategy and execution behind donor analytics, event management, and cross-department collaboration for philanthropy initiatives. This is a high ownership role. The individual must be able to think strategically while independently executing projects, managing stakeholders, and representing the university professionally.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in event planning, marketing, or fundraising
  • Leadership experience across student organizations or projects
  • Familiarity with data analytics and CRM systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the Capstone to Career Speaker Series, including speaker outreach, scheduling, and event timelines
  • Manage logistics for philanthropy and donor-facing events such as Giving Day and President’s Leadership Council meetings, including communication, coordination, and run-of-show execution
  • Promote events through social media, classroom outreach, and student organizations to drive attendance and engagement
  • Analyze and map the donor journey from initial engagement to major giving, identifying gaps and recommending improvements at each stage
  • Develop donor personas based on location, industry, motivations, and preferred outreach channels to guide targeted engagement strategies
  • Audit and clean donor data; analyze trends to identify engagement gaps and growth opportunities
  • Design donor cultivation strategies, including clear financial entry points from first-time donor to major donor
  • Identify gaps in philanthropy and engagement efforts; develop SOPs for communication timelines and operational processes to improve consistency
