About The Position

As a systems engineer for LAS NCS, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for design, development evaluation and test of RF communication systems including Software Defined Radios and MIL waveforms, and MORA and SOSA VPX chassis systems, as well as legacy subsystems

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • RF Systems design and analysis (Link analysis, RF chain analysis, component selection)
  • Integration and test of engineering model/prototype RF systems, from data interface to antenna
  • Performance testing on RF amplifiers, radios and modems (Both Software Defined and standalone/legacy radios), waveform constellations using advanced RF Network Analyzers. (Traditional and VPX chassis/CMFF architectures)
  • Conduct over-the-air tests for RF and SATCOM systems located in outdoor/indoor environments at General Dynamics and customer facilities.
  • Conduct test using RF test equipment, Spectrum & Vector analyzers, RF generators, etc.
  • Performs systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements
  • Evaluate RF systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
  • Evaluate Position, Navigation and Timing/frequency reference subsystem performance
  • Perform co-site evaluation of RF systems that employ multiple transmit/receive channels, to include testing and electromagnetic modeling and antenna placement
  • Use engineering and test software tools such as MatLab and LabView
