About The Position

As a systems engineer for Gobln, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for executing the system safety engineering program effort, and preparing all contractual documentation summaring all safety analyses performed. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), system and subsystem hazard analysis, software functional hazard analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-882E & Joint Software System Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH), hazard mitigation and Safety related documentation generation Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system safety requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (elements and components) Performs detailed technical safety analyses for a subsystem or system elements Develops and evaluates systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental safety specifications and standards You have background and knowledge in System Safety and Human Factors Engineering. Strong working knowledge with Military Standards and Practices: MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, MIL-STD-1472G/H, MIL-H-46855 and MIL-HDBK-454 required Able to develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety documentation on both new and fielded information systems Participates in Modeling and Simulation Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for mitigating hazards/hazard conditions Identifies, analyzes and resolves system safety design weaknesses Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups Works under limited direction Comfortable reaching out to Deputy Program Managers of Engineering (DPME), Directors of Engineering (DOE) and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams across the company Frequent contact with external customers You are comfortable assembling System Safety Working Groups (SSWG) and leading SSWG activities, including scheduling of meetings and review, interpretation and presentation of team input What sets you apart: Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others Familiarity with requirements management & system modeling tools Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications Fully proficient ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle complex assignments Fully proficient ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions Fully proficient ability to clearly report relevant to sound systems engineering design

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • You have background and knowledge in System Safety and Human Factors Engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge with Military Standards and Practices: MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, MIL-STD-1472G/H, MIL-H-46855 and MIL-HDBK-454 required
  • CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fully proficient ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle complex assignments
  • Fully proficient ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Fully proficient ability to clearly report relevant to sound systems engineering design
