About The Position

In this role, you will provide advanced technical support and administration for physical and virtual server environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will serve as a key point of contact for users, resolving complex technical issues while managing software installations, system updates, and permissions. The role requires hands-on experience with server operating systems, storage, networking, and automation through scripting. You will monitor system performance, implement patches, and maintain documentation to support efficient operations. This position provides exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a highly secure environment, allowing you to contribute directly to mission-critical systems. Onsite presence is required, providing opportunities to collaborate closely with a dedicated team of IT professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire
  • Strong experience with Windows Server (2012 R2 through 2019; 2022 a plus) and Windows 10/11
  • Knowledge of storage solutions (e.g., NetApp) and backup technologies
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Experience with Active Directory management and general application support
  • Troubleshooting skills across OS, networking, and storage technologies

Nice To Haves

  • basic Cisco switching CLI experience
  • CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux knowledge
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line support to users, troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions
  • Perform server administration for physical and virtual server OS, including configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Install, update, and patch operating systems and vendor software, ensuring system security and reliability
  • Manage network interfaces and storage solutions, troubleshooting as needed
  • Create, maintain, and run scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks
  • Manage Active Directory, security groups, and GPOs; support MS-SQL, SCCM, and WSUS applications
  • Document processes, procedures, and system configurations for operational continuity
