About The Position

Xcel Energy is seeking one or more Advanced Step Gas Technician Apprentice/Journeyman Gas Technicians to be located at our Faribault Service Center in Faribault, MN. This position requires the successful applicant to reside within 20 miles of the Faribault Service Center. The pay rate for Journeyman qualification is $50.60, while an Advanced Step Apprentice will start at 75% of the Journeyman rate, increasing with each step of qualification. The posting will be available for 10 working days, ending on August 15, 2025.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Class A commercial driver's license
• One or more years' Gas Construction and/or Gas Service experience
• Three or more years of experience as a Gas Technician for Journeyman-level
• Gas Technician experience preferred
• Certification in plastic fusion per Xcel Energy requirements within 6 months of hire
• Ability to lift 50 pounds safely
• Residency within a 20-mile radius of the Faribault Service Center
• Meet Operator Qualification requirements
