About The Position

The position involves performing general diagnostic ultrasound exams and related data for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician. The role includes performing all cardiac ultrasound (echocardiograms) to produce images of the heart that show hemodynamics and function, as well as conducting all routine vascular exams to evaluate possible abnormal vascular defects or diseases. Exams are digitally acquired, and measurements are obtained per each specific modality. Ensuring patient safety through the use of procedure protocols and policies is a critical aspect of the job. The position requires taking call as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in related health science or graduate of an accredited program preferred in related field.
  • 1-5 years related experience.
  • New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (DMS, VS).
  • Current BLS required.
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential with one of the following specialties through ARDMS: Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), Breast (BR), Pediatric Sonography (PS).
  • Cardiac Sonography Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer credential with one of the following specialties through ARDMS: Adult Echocardiography (AE), Pediatric Echocardiography (PE), Fetal Echocardiography (FE).
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS).
  • Vascular Sonography Registered Vascular Technologist credential through ARDMS (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS) or Vascular Sonography credential through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (VS)).

Responsibilities
