The Advanced Scaffold Builder at Austal USA is responsible for the precise erection, dismantling, modification, and staging of scaffolding, adhering to Austal, local, state, federal, and manufacturer's guidelines. This role involves determining necessary labor and materials, planning erection methods, and ensuring the safety of both the scaffolding team and those who use the structures. Key duties include performing regular inspections and maintenance of scaffolding before initial use, daily, and after any alterations, to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. The builder is also tasked with preparing construction sites by clearing debris and hazardous materials. The position may require handling and installing scaffolding materials, ladders, walkways, safety netting, and handrails using various power tools and lifts. Adherence to correct construction methods and meeting quality and labor efficiency targets are essential. The work environment is dynamic, involving various weather conditions and locations such as buildings, warehouses, and ship ports, with travel required to different Austal USA sites.
