About The Position

Medical Specialists of the Palm Beaches (MSPB) is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our dynamic team. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APRN or PA) is an integral member of the clinical care team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care directly in patients’ homes. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, providing health education, initiating treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize care. The APRN operates within scope of practice under general physician supervision and in compliance with all regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Florida RN and ARNP license.
  • Master’s or post-master’s degree (required if graduated after October 1, 1998).
  • Submission of ARNP protocols as per Florida state requirements.
  • Graduate of an accredited PA program.
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Submission of PA protocols as per Florida state requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
  • Competency in ICD-10, CPT coding, and EMR usage.
  • Proven ability to maintain medical malpractice coverage and meet state credentialing requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • May need to lift up to 30 lbs. and assist patients with mobility.
  • Requires the use of a computer keyboard and phone.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Palm Beach & Broward County (typically <30 minutes between locations).

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive medical examinations and health assessments in patients’ homes and/or virtually.
  • Collect patient histories, conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop accurate diagnoses and patient-centered treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state licensure and practice protocols.
  • Provide emergency care interventions within protocol, while consulting with supervising physician as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, preventive care, and available healthcare resources.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and case reviews to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Identify and close gaps in care by facilitating screenings, immunizations, and chronic disease follow-up.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation using EMR systems (preferably Athena).
  • Provide clear, empathetic, and effective communication to patients, families, and care teams.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations including OSHA, CLIA, DEA, State Board of Nursing, and Federal guidelines.
  • Participate in mandatory compliance and training programs; uphold MSPB’s standards of care and conduct.
  • Maintain appropriate licensure, CME requirements, and insurance credentials.
  • Submit protocols and documentation required by the State of Florida.
