University Health Partners of Hawaii is the Faculty Practice of the John A Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). In conjunction with the State of Hawaii's Department of Health - Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, JABSOM and UHP are expanding Hawaii UTelehealth (HUT) to provide access to no-cost addiction medicine treatment for the State of Hawaii. Our new Telehealth Addiction Medicine program is founded on the belief that everyone deserves a path to recovery. We aim to provide evidence-based, patient-centered, and non-judgmental care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), meeting them wherever they are in their journey. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) within addiction medicine focuses on providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance use and addiction. The APRN assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients, develops individualized treatment plans, prescribes medications, and offers counseling and therapy.
