About The Position
Join our Sarasota County Health Department Specialty Care team as an Advanced Public Health Nurse specializing in family planning, STD, HIV prevention and limited OB care. Responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, managing health care regimens, and providing comprehensive guidance and counseling. You'll prescribe contraceptive methods, manage acute conditions, and ensure follow-up care as per protocols as well as perform adult health screenings for the Florida Breast and Cervical Early detection Program. Additionally, contribute to education programs, promote services, and participate in program planning and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of nursing practice
- Knowledge of Birth Control Methods
- Knowledge of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
- Knowledge of basic Preventive HIV Treatment
- Interpersonal skills
- Diagnostic skills
- Basic computer skills
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with F.S. 464
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the specialty of Women’s Health and Family Planning
- Experience inserting and removing LARCs
- Experience working within Title X guidelines and expectations
- Experience performing PAPs and management of follow-up and referral, if indicated
- English/Spanish bilingual
