About The Position

Texas Oncology Ft Worth is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Medical Oncology team at the Keller Cancer Center. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, with over 600 providers across 220+ sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • For Nurse Practitioner: RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • For Nurse Practitioner: Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • For Physician Assistant: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • For Physician Assistant: Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
  • For Physician Assistant: Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
  • For Clinical Nurse Specialist: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
  • For Clinical Nurse Specialist: RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • For Clinical Nurse Specialist: Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required for all roles.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of experience for Level 1 (entry-level).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience for Level 2.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience for Level Sr.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care, in collaboration with practice physicians.
  • Impact quality of patient care and patient outcomes throughout the care continuum.
  • Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Direct care and management in the outpatient/inpatient/surgical setting to include documentation of visits.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Order and review diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications.
  • Manage symptoms.
  • Provide counseling and support.
  • Collaborate with and make referrals to other health care providers.
  • Provide education to staff, students, and the community.
  • Practice interdependently with collaborative physician(s) and team.
  • Proficiently use Electronic Health Record in the delivery of care.
  • Complete documentation per Texas Oncology policy and guidelines.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.
  • Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
