The Advanced Practice Provider provides direct patient care, in collaboration with consulting physicians and the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentials committee, to include identification, management, and/or referral of health problems. This position will work at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Medical Centers in Bolingbrook and Hinsdale. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care and formulate plan of care in collaboration with physician, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the Credentials Committee. Communicate follow-up plan/disposition with the follow-up health care provider. Prescribe and evaluate pharmacological therapies according to protocol. Attend both high and low risk deliveries as needed. Initiate CPR and perform therapeutic techniques to stabilize a compromised infant in the delivery room, NICU, emergency room and referring hospitals as needed. Stabilize and transport patients as needed. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of current professional and legal trends, concepts and issues related to practice. Identify educational needs of family members and assist with teaching as appropriate. Ensure that appropriate systems and resources are in place to maintain established standards of care. Participate in self and peer evaluation to improve quality of care. Participate in the development, review and evaluation of policies and procedures. Participate in developing and implementing QI monitoring. Participate in providing in-service and outreach education program. Act as resource for clinical skills for staff on or of the unit. May participate in clinical research projects conducted by supervising physicians. Serve as preceptor to APP students. Evaluates goals and outcomes considering the benefit-versus-burden, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness for the patient, family and the organization. Develops diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions needed to achieve the goals and outcomes of the patient’s plan of care. Has a deep understanding and response to adverse drug reactions, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, or older adults. Develops and coordinates APP training and professional development activities. Performs other related work as needed. Annual Salary: $125K - $155K
