About The Position

Position Summary – Advanced Practice Provider – Physician Assistant
Ambulatory Pulmonology
Catholic Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Ambulatory Pulmonology team. The ideal candidate will work in collaboration with board-certified pulmonologists and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex pulmonary conditions.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
• Certification by NCCPA (PA).
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• DEA required
• At least 1-2 years of experience in pulmonary, critical care, thoracic surgery, or interventional pulmonology preferred (but new grads with strong clinical rotations and interest will be considered).
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Primary functions in the ambulatory setting with hospital coverage/rotation
• Collaborate with interventional pulmonologists to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with thoracic and pulmonary diseases.
• Assist in coordination and management of advanced pulmonary procedures, including: Bronchoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic) Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) Navigational bronchoscopy Thoracentesis and pleural procedures Airway stenting and tumor ablation
• Conduct pre-procedure evaluations and post-procedure follow-up.
• Manage inpatient consults and assist with rounding on interventional pulmonology patients.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical research, if applicable.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Help manage Outpatient Clinic by doing the following: Phone triage, symptom management; follow up radiology results, prescription and referral/supply management.
