About The Position

An adolescent advanced practice provider is needed for the day shift on our adolescent crisis unit as we endeavor to build the healthiest community in the nation … one person at a time.  This position will be based at the new and innovative acute care behavioral health facility, which opened in late 2023.  SummitStone has the privilege of partnering closely with Larimer County on this venture.  We provide comprehensive and collaborative care to individuals in crisis with mental health and/or substance use disorders. Our adolescent APP will provide specialized care for adolescents 12-17 with behavioral health conditions inclusive of mental health and substance use challenges. In our Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit, the medical provider will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and support young patients in managing conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, substance use, or trauma related disorders.  This role involves working closely with young patients, their families, and healthcare teams to promote emotional well-being, manage mental health conditions, and support recovery. This position requires knowledge of diversity and inclusion with the relevant ability to engage, communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people of different backgrounds, identities, and culturally diverse communities.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Nursing degree (APN) degree or Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience working with persons from marginalized communities and other patient populations experiencing vulnerabilities.
  • Understanding and commitment to Medications for Addiction Treatment and harm reduction principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language skills.  Other language skills also beneficial.
  • At least 2 years' experience treating/servicing adolescent with mental health needs.
  • Strong understanding of substance use treatment and knowledge of withdrawal management processes.
  • Some positions include driving a company vehicle and require a valid Colorado driver’s license.
