About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Urgent Care at Twin Cities Orthopedics is responsible for delivering healthcare services to patients with non-operative orthopedic conditions. This part-time role involves working under the supervision of an on-call physician, performing various clinical tasks, and ensuring high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration/license.
• DEA registration.
• Full-time OUC provider or has covered a float shift in the past year.
• Prior orthopedic experience strongly preferred.
• Prior urgent care experience strongly preferred.

• Experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Practice independently in the clinic by treating patients with non-operative orthopedic conditions.
• Consult with patients for cast application/adjustment, dressing changes, or brace application.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing, and wound care.
• Apply, remove, modify, and adjust casts and soft goods; change dressings; remove sutures.
• Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in the provision of care.
• Prescribe medications as necessary.
• Exercise good judgment when consulting or referring cases to the on-call physician.
• Flexibility to work at various clinic sites as needed.
• Occasionally participate in community functions related to TCO outreach events.
