About The Position

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to provide a combination of Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care or Family Medicine and join our team located at Franciscan ExpressCare Michigan City in Michigan City, IN. The ideal candidate will have experience in Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care or Family Medicine. Candidate will have ACLS/BLS certifications and will be able to see all patient types. Must be certified/willing to become certified to conduct US Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME). Ideal candidate should be proficient in: Reading basic x-rays of all body parts, Laceration repair/wound care, Initial ECG interpretation, Willing to obtain DOT certification, Urgent evaluation and treatment of potentially critically ill patients and the appropriate transport of these patients to the closest Emergency Room Department.

Requirements

• Master's Degree - Required.
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Nationally Recognized Certification - Required.
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Required.
• Experience in Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care or Family Medicine.
• ACLS/BLS certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in reading basic x-rays.
• Experience with laceration repair and wound care.
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• Experience in urgent evaluation and treatment of critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide a combination of Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care or Family Medicine.
• See all patient types.
• Conduct US Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals.

• Perform laceration repair and wound care.
• Interpret initial ECGs.
• Evaluate and treat potentially critically ill patients.
• Transport critically ill patients to the closest Emergency Room Department.
