ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER SURGERY FIRST ASSIST- Ortho Hand
About The Position
Carilion Clinic is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Hand Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join their Hand Surgery team. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons in a dynamic, high-volume practice serving a diverse patient population. Carilion Clinic is a not-for-profit, mission-driven health system built on progress and partnerships, headquartered in Roanoke, Va., with a robust system of award winning hospitals, Level 1 and 3 trauma centers, Level 3 NICU, Institute of Orthopedics and Neurosciences, and multi-specialty physician practices spanning southwestern Virginia.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program or Accredited Physician Assistant Program
- License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) as set forth by the state of Virginia
- If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required
- Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Current PALS/NPR, as required, specific to position
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position
- Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers
- Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills
- Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records
