About The Position

Fairview is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our Behavioral Health team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC), Riverside Campus in Minneapolis, MN. This role provides comprehensive, patient-centered care are for patients on general adult inpatient mental health units, as well as speciality units including young adult, geriatric and detox.
Practice Details:
FTE: 1.0 FTE - .60 FTE (Full Time)
Weekend call: 10-11 weekends/year
Weeknight call: 5-10pm; pager only; ~once every 2 weeks
No overnight call between 10pm - 8am
Join a team of 7 Psychiatrists and 6 PMHNPs.
Average daily census is 8-10 beds.
Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program
• Less than 1 year of experience required; new graduates encouraged to apply
• Current Minnesota licensure (APRN or PA)
• National certification (CNP, CNS, or NCCPA)
• Eligible for credentialing and privileging
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Basic computer proficiency

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, including medical history and physical exams
• Diagnose conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate
• Provide preventive, acute, and chronic care
• Make referrals to specialists as needed
• Perform procedures within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in team-based care and quality improvement initiatives
