Cooper University Hospital Interventional Radiology department is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider to join our collaborative team of physicians and practitioners who use advanced imaging and other innovative methods to assess and treat complex conditions less invasively and with unprecedented precision. The role of the Interventional Radiology APP includes procedural and clinical care services to adult patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting at Cooper University Hospital and MD Anderson at Cooper University. Duties include independent and collaborative management of new and established patients, reviewing pertinent imaging, providing consult services and performing image guided procedures.

  • Function within the scope of practice as defined by the state nurses practice act and the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics.
  • Utilize the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.
  • Practice autonomously and/or in consultation with a collaborating/supervising physician and other health care professionals.
  • Perform patient history and physical examination to develop an individualized plan of care.
  • Order, perform, supervise, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, procedures, and prescription of pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Provide therapeutic measures as appropriate and provide teaching, education, and counseling to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Emphasize health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Serve as health care researchers, professional educators, interdisciplinary consultants, and patient advocates.
  • Interventional Radiology experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant is required.
  • Prior experience in Interventional Radiology as a Registered Nurse will be considered.
  • MASTERS degree required - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Board certification as Primary Care and/or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Board certification as Physician Assistant.
  • Active New Jersey License.
  • American Heart Association ACLS/BLS and CDS/DEA certification.
