About The Position

We are seeing a PRN Advanced Practice Provider to join the Emergency Medicine team at Cleveland Medical Center and St. John's Medical Center in Westlake. APP needed to work variable shifts including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. APP experience required and ED experience strongly preferred. Performs patient assessment and assigns diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research. Establishes plan of care and implements interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, and standards of care and current research. Collaborates w/other health care providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family. Order and perform routine diagnostic procedures Develop and implement treatment plans Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions Contributes to the educational development of staff, patients, family and self. Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management. Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism. Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)
  • (MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • 1+ years as a Physician Assistant Required
  • 1+ years as a Nurse Practitioner Required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships. (Required proficiency)
  • Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe. (Required proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. (Required proficiency)
  • Physician Assistant (PA) (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required)
  • Practice with a supervising physician (Required Upon Hire)
  • Maintain national PA Certification (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Ohio (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Current APRN License (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • ED experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
