Occupational Medicine (Employer-Based Practice) UW Health in northern Illinois | Rockford, Illinois UW Health in northern Illinois is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our employer-based Occupational Medicine program in Rockford, Illinois. Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a valid license to practice in Illinois.
  • Strong clinical skills and a passion for preventive care and health promotion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
  • A commitment to continuing education and professional development.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a desire to make a difference in the community.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a dynamic and collaborative practice environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in occupational medicine or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry standards is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses, providing timely and effective care.
  • Perform a range of physicals, including DOT, pre-employment, and return-to-work assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct OSHA-mandated exams, respirator clearances, and drug/alcohol testing, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Emphasize injury prevention and early intervention strategies, working closely with employers to implement safe return-to-work plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and employer partners to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
  • Utilize efficient workflows designed to support your autonomy and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in occupational medicine and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with employers and employees, fostering a culture of trust and open communication.
