Overview
Meet Jayden and his journey with Children’s Mercy Allergy Clinic
Our department provides expert, family‑centered care for children with allergy, asthma, and immunologic conditions in a pediatric‑focused environment.
Position Highlights
Provide outpatient Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology care for children
Evaluate and manage a broad range of pediatric allergy and immunologic diagnoses
Oversee oral food and drug challenges in the outpatient clinic setting
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and safety planning
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, asthma care coordinators, social workers, and environmental health specialists
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses II (APRN-II) provides proficient, comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. An APRN II obtains a comprehensive health history; performs physical examination; formulates a plan of care and treatment; prescribes/performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and procedures; and participates in patient and family education. Each APRN-II demonstrates professional leadership and participates in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement, and/or research activities, and organizational development.

Requirements

• Master's Degree and 1-2 years experience 1-2 years pediatric APRN experience with Masters. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
• Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) - preferred and 1-2 years experience 1 year pediatric APRN experience. Exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis within preferred specialty.
• Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
• Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
• APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
• Successful completion of national board certification in one of the following: Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) in MO & KS Required Upon Hire
• Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
• APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
• Primary Care PNP will be required - must enroll in a program within two years of hire and complete the program within 5 years.
