About The Position

This Advanced Practice Provider will join our nationally ranked pediatric hematology program at Primary Children's Hospital. This APP will have primary responsibilities for outpatient hematology patients, with inpatient hematology consult responsibilities as needed. While this APP will work primarily from the Salt Lake campus, there will be expectations to flex to the Lehi campus on occasion. The ideal candidate will have APP experience with the Pediatric Hem/Onc population, although those with prior APP experience or prior Hem/Onc experience may be considered. We treat children and adolescents with non-malignant blood disorders, bleeding disorders, and clotting disorders. Outpatient clinical responsibilities will include but are not limited to: the assessment and evaluation of patients, development of care plans, management of prescriptions, management of infusions, coordination of home care needs, patient and family education, communication with consulting services, coordination of patient follow-up, and integration with the multi-disciplinary team to meet patient care needs as appropriate. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and department research is also strongly encouraged. Full time and fully benefits-eligible, the APP will typically be scheduled Monday - Friday during regular clinic hours. There are no call or weekend responsibilities with this role.

Requirements

  • Utah license as a Physician Assistant (PA) or an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Utah State Controlled Substance License
  • Federal DEA Certificate II through V
  • PALS and BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers
