About The Position

When you join us, you’ll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of “helping people live the healthiest lives possible.” About this role: As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will join our nationally ranked pediatric Hematology program at Primary Children’s Hospital. Your primary responsibility will be to provide care for Outpatient Hematology patients, but will also have inpatient Hematology consult responsibilities. While you will work primarily from the Salt Lake campus, there will be expectations to flex to the Lehi campus as needed. The ideal candidate will have APP experience with the Pediatric Hem/Onc population, although those with prior APP experience or prior Hem/Onc experience may be considered. We treat children and adolescents with non-malignant blood disorders, bleeding disorders, and clotting disorders. Outpatient clinical responsibilities will include but are not limited to: the assessment and evaluation of patients, development of care plans, management of prescriptions, management of infusions, coordination of home care needs, patient and family education, communication with consulting services, coordination of patient follow-up, and integration with the multi-disciplinary team to meet patient care needs as appropriate. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and department research is also expected. Part time, you will generally work two days per week scheduled Monday - Friday during regular clinic hours. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. - and - Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc). - and - May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Requirements

  • Utah license as a Physician Assistant (PA) or an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
