About The Position

We are currently searching for an outstanding Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP)) to perform patient care and scientific research services in support of research performed at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute's (NHLBI), Division of Intramural Research (DIR). This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD. Function within a team of clinical providers and research support staff to support the coordination and execution of NHLBI research protocols. Support biomedical research protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team, patients and families to enhance clinical practice and care. Facilitate learning for patients and families. Perform medical management of patients incorporating critical thinking skills with advanced clinical practice and research skills by integrating experiential knowledge and evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited PA program or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (for NP candidates)
  • Minimum of TWO (2) years of clinical experience.
  • Holds an active Maryland license to practice within their respective discipline OR is a recent graduate from an accredited PA or NP program and is scheduled to sit for the certification examination.
  • Offer letters will be contingent on having passed certification exam and applied for Maryland licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent experience in hematology, oncology, or stem cell transplant and/or biomedical research is beneficial but not required.
  • Be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
