About The Position

The position is for an advanced practice provider in an orthopedic urgent care setting, providing direct patient care to individuals through in-person and virtual encounters. The focus is on diagnosing and managing acute or urgent musculoskeletal/orthopedic issues, with a secondary emphasis on illness/injury prevention, conservative rehabilitation, and counseling on the appropriateness of non-surgical versus surgical intervention. The NP or PA will work as part of an integrated care team to manage patient care and disposition, with an opportunity to help develop and grow a novel model for delivering orthopedic care.

Requirements

• Must be a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Experience in urgent care or orthopedic settings preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a treatment team.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with virtual patient care.
• Familiarity with integrated care models.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical care for patients.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy, and medical equipment.
• Conducts patient education when managing chronic illness or wellness care.
• Refers for specialty care when determined.
• Consults with physician when patient needs are outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis, or treatment plan is unclear.
