Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs. Cleveland Clinic's Department of Regional Cardiothoracic Surgery is currently seeking several Full-time Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (Acute Care) to join their team at Mercy Hospital! These providers will work in the Cardiothoracic OR. These positions are primarily for the Cardiac OR, This position includes endoscopic and open vein and arterial harvest, as well as first assist at the chest. When not in the O.R you will see pre op patient consults, write progress notes on post op CV surgery patients; and remove IABPs, chest tubes, and pacing wires. The successful applicant will perform in the first assist role alongside the surgeon in thoracic procedures. The work schedule is Monday-Friday with a 6:30am start on surgery days. Call is rotated amongst the team. This position is open to New Graduates and Experienced APPs that have completed a cardiothoracic rotation. APRNs must be Acute Care certified - preferred OR first assist experience, but not required.
