About The Position

UPMC is hiring Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across multiple specialties and locations in Central Pennsylvania. We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate APPs to join our growing team and provide exceptional patient care within a collaborative, innovative health system. Opportunities are available at several hospitals and outpatient sites throughout the region, with placement determined based on candidate interest, specialty area, and organizational need. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and physician assistants, are integral members of UPMC’s care delivery team. They deliver expert care within collaborative, multidisciplinary teams across all UPMC facilities in Central Pennsylvania. UPMC supports the growth of APPs through innovative educational strategies, ongoing professional training, and leadership development. With a dedicated team of 3,600 APPs, UPMC is committed to advancing collaborative practice models and supporting research that drives innovative healthcare delivery systems.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific care.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data to identify care requirements.
  • Provide care as described in department policies and procedures.
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program (for PA candidates).
  • Completion of an approved nurse practitioner program (for CRNP candidates).
  • Current PA state license and NCCPA certification required (for PA candidates).
  • Current RN license and CRNP certification required (for CRNP candidates).
  • Current CPR certification and Act 34 Clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • BS or MS preferred for Physician Assistant candidates.
  • BSN or MSN preferred for Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner candidates.
  • Clinical experience preferred for both PA and CRNP candidates.
  • Professional nursing or nurse practitioner experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide patient care activities using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
