The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure. The GI Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal cancers in the ambulatory setting. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, the APP monitors patient progress and supports symptom management, survivorship, surveillance care, and active treatment. This includes managing patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other systemic therapies. The role emphasizes continuity of care and coordination across infusion, exam, and supportive services. The APP conducts independent patient assessments and also works in parallel with attending physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
