Willoughby Hills and Chesterland are expanding with their advanced-practice provider coverage, and looking for compassionate, hard-working individuals to join our large group of advanced-practice providers. Applicants will be joining a fast-paced program and will be responsible for ambulatory care for pediatric patients. The primary care pediatrics department is ready to add a qualified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to its team. The location would be the Fairlawn Medical Office Building. This coverage could include future locations as well as some floating but the home site will be Fairlawn. The provider in this role will work to the top of competency providing holistic care to children in pediatrics. All candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program to be considered. The ideal candidate has ambulatory experience, preferably in pediatrics and should be comfortable handling a wide range of responsibilities throughout the day including patient care, procedures and working with a team to accomplish team care. The standard hours for this role vary by location and need. Weekends, holidays and call may be required for the role. New graduates are welcome to apply. If hired into this position for pediatrics, new graduates will be automatically enrolled into the APRN/PA Transition to Practice Program. Experienced APRN/PAs changing specialty practice areas will be considered for the Transition to Practice Program in the new specialty practice area. The APRN/PA Transition to Practice Program is a program sponsored by Advanced Practice Nursing at the Nursing Institute and PA Services at the Chief of Staff Office at the Cleveland Clinic. The Transition to Practice Program is designed to refine the skills and knowledge of the new graduates and experienced APRN/PAs changing specialty practice areas. The APRN/PAs participating in the program will be full-time employees, hired by, and reporting to their respective clinical institutes. APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to a standard care arrangement and specialty certification. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions the collaboration agreement of a Physician, (as per O.R.C. 4730) performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PA's are privileged by the Board of Governors. PA's in the Hospital care role provide outpatient and/or hospital based care to patients (more than 50% of their time) with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Outpatient/Hospital care PA's practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems. Must have the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
