About The Position

Ascension All Saints Hospital is seeking a Hospitalist to join our collaborative, team-based approach to healthcare. This position operates on a 7 days on/7 days off schedule, with no call required. The role involves providing individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating acute or chronic health conditions. The Hospitalist will work closely with a physician and participate in various aspects of patient care, including admissions, cross coverage, patient education, and communication with families and consultants. The position requires the use of the EPIC EMR system and is based in Racine, WI, at a non-profit community hospital with 350 licensed beds, serving a diverse patient population since the 1870s.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support preferred.
• Orthopedic Physician Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
• Participate in different aspects of care including admissions, cross coverage, patient education, communication with patient's families and consultants, and RRTs coverage.
• Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
• Obtain patient history and perform assessments.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
