About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Cardiology department.We are seeking an energetic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Structural Valve Clinic. This role provides comprehensive outpatient care to patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including structural heart disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease. Our team works in a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment to deliver world-class, patient-centered care. Clinical Scope & Procedures Patients may undergo advanced structural heart interventions, including: Transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve repair Aortic and pulmonic valve replacement Left atrial appendage (LAA) closure Paravalvular leak closure Atrial septal defect (ASD) closure

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

  • 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed histories and physical examinations
  • Evaluate, diagnose, manage, and treat patients in the outpatient setting
  • Interpret multiple sources of clinical data to develop and adjust individualized plans of care under the direction of Structural Valve Physicians
  • Prescribe appropriate, guideline-directed medical therapy
  • Modify treatment plans as clinically indicated
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
  • Coordinate care across outpatient and inpatient settings, including transitions of care and follow-up planning
  • Work closely with cardiologists, nursing staff, and other specialty teams to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care
