Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our School-Based Health Center services. The School-Based Provider will work within the Greater Bangor Region school districts, Bangor, Brewer, Old Town (RSU 34) public schools. This is an opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary primary care and mental health providers throughout PCHC, and work closely with peers in other School-Based Health Centers to provide and promote timely access to care, continuity of care, and the enhancement of well-being in our area’s children. Must be an experienced BC/BE Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate with at least one year of clinical practice. The school-based care environment is dynamic, so the provider must be flexible, able to work independently and comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment. Work will primarily be in-person on-site at the assigned school district with coverage at other SBHC locations in other Greater Bangor school districts (Bangor Brewer, Old Town (RSU 34) based on need. Time will be split between on-site school locations. Hotel office space on the PCHC campus is available as needed. The position is planned for full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, generally 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. year-around . PCHC's School-Based Health Centers will generally be open Monday - Friday, even when school is not in session. This includes school vacations, school in-service days, and summer break. PTO: School Based Health Center providers are eligible to accrue up to 224 hours of paid time annually, under PCHC’s PTO plan. Holidays: PCHC recognizes 11 Holidays - New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. In order to receive holiday pay, the holiday must fall on a day that is part of the employee’s regular schedule. Holiday pay will be paid for the employee’s scheduled work hours for that day. On School holidays not observed by PCHC, and on weather closure or other days when SBHC staff are not allowed access to school buildings, SBHC staff will be offered work at other PCHC outpatient primary clinic locations based on the needs of the organizations or take PTO.
