Heywood Healthcare is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Emergency Medicine team at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA and Athol Hospital in Athol, MA. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality emergency care in a collaborative, community-based setting within a respected independent healthcare system serving North Central Massachusetts. Position Highlights Practice in a busy community emergency department Physician-led, team-based model with experienced Emergency Medicine physicians and APPs Opportunity to practice at the top of license Supportive leadership focused on quality, safety, and provider well-being Full-time schedule: 11 twelve-hour shifts per month

Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more of the following: Emergency Department practice as an APP Urgent Care practice as an APP Prior clinical experience as a Paramedic
  • Eligible for Massachusetts licensure
  • BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • PALS preferred or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
  • Perform procedures consistent with training and scope of practice
  • Collaborate with Emergency Medicine physicians, nursing staff, and consultants
  • Document care in the electronic medical record and adhere to quality and safety standards
